Chantilly

  Chantilly is an unincorporated community in Western Fairfax County about    24 miles from Washington D.C. The Washington Dulles International Airport;  one of 2 airports that serve the D.C. area. Chantilly is located in both  Western Fairfax County and Southeastern Loudoun County

Chantilly also the location of Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center annex of the National Air and Space Museum.


The evolution of the Chantilly area into an outer suburb of Washington, D.C., gained momentum after 1980, as developers built residential subdivisions and commercial areas, filling in the farm land south of Dulles Airport. Fair Oaks / Fair Lakes retail cluster spread out along I-66 provides easy access to retail & public activities.

 

There are several schools in Chantilly, including Westfield High School & Chantilly High School. There are two middle schools and six elementary schools.

Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate at Chantilly High School is 65 percent.

 Westfield High School is "Home of the Bulldogs". Principal, Tim Thomas leads the school with strong academic and athletic programs. Beyond the main building, there is the sprawling Westfield Sports Complex, including the football stadium, a baseball field, a softball field, six tennis courts, a track which encircles a field for track and fieldsoccer, and lacrosse, and multiple practice fields. Adjacent to the complex is the Cub Run Rec Center, home to Westfield's swim and dive team.

Chantilly is home to top golf courses to include South Riding Golf Club, Pleasant Valley Golf Club and Chantilly National. 

The Pleasant Valley Golf Club is a natural, park-like setting with no homes bordering the golf course. It features a pristine landscape of rolling hills and a club house with pro shop, outing facilities to host tournaments, 18 championship holes, practice facilities and more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Riding Golf Club is in the award-winning community of South Riding on the Loudon side of Chantilly. It is popular with all skill levels and offers a challenging layout with a variety of tee placements. It features an 18-hole course. There is also a pro shop, snack bar, beer on tap and a selection of cigars. They offer lessons for adults and juniors. There is a driving range, practice bunker, short-game range and putting green.

Chantilly National Golf & Country Club is one of Northern Virginia’s premier private, member-owned country clubs. Established in 1959 on 214 rolling acres, they offer amenities including golf, tennis, swimming and dining with a lounge and outdoor deck.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Great dining is nearby to include Chantilly’s Backyard Grill, Anita’s Mexican Cuisine, Eggspectation, Texas Roadhouse, Foster’s Grill, Glory Days as well as others in nearby Centreville to include Sweetwater Tavern, Bonefish Grill and more.

Chantilly is home of the Cub Run Rec Center which is a 65,000 square foot facility that includes a 4,860 square foot leisure entertainment pool featuring two water slides and a water playground, a 25-yard by 25-meter swimming pool, a 9,600 square foot fitness center and two multipurpose rooms - one a 3,000 square foot room that can be divided in half, the other a 1,700 square foot room, and a 270 square foot party room. Other Fitness centers in Chantilly include Fitness First and Golds Gym

Chantilly is also home to Ellanor C. Lawrence Park was established to preserve large areas of open space, protect natural and cultural features and provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the public. Visitors will find a unique experience whether visiting to bird watch, hike, exercise, discover the natural and cultural history of the land, picnic, participate in organized sports, attend an educational program or just relax.

 

 

 

 

Walney Visitor Center is a public park facility which offers educational exhibits, programs and information to over 30,000 visitors per year. Situated in a converted 1780 farmhouse, the center contains an information desk, rest rooms, sales area, live animal exhibits, historic exhibits, children’s touch table area, greenhouse and classroom.

Poplar Tree Park is a community area offering space for residents to play and enjoy the environment. The park offers numerous athletic fields and areas for games and other activities. The park has four baseball/softball fields, as well as two turf soccer fields, a grass field, and bleachers and lights for night games.
