Montclair is a census-designated place  in Prince William County. Montclair is a residential community surrounding a man-made lake and golf course. Development began in the late 1960s and new home construction for the most part ended in the 1990s.

The lake, is a popular spot for swimming, boating, and fishing.

Every year the Home Owner’s Association, known as MPOA (Montclair Property Owner’s Association), holds elections and confirms the newly elected Board at its annual meeting. MPOA governs the community making sure covenance is met, the lake is properly mainatained, and the needs of the community are looked after.

The community of Montclair is one of the most popular residential subdivisions in Prince William County. Montclair provides excellent tennis, golf, and aquatic facilities for its members and children attend great Prince William County Public Schools.

Montclair is home to over 3,800 houses that surrounds a 108-acre lake and an 18-hole golf course.. The community of Montclair is set on 1,600 + acres of land and includes two community parks featuring tot lots, baseball fields, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as picnic areas. The Montclair Country Club is a private country club located in the community.


Montclair has 3 beaches that residents can use throughout the year. Each has a dock, a swim dock, a beach, picnic areas and more. In the summer, lifeguards are on duty. There is an annual Easter Egg hunt, Montclair Day in June, 4th of July fireworks, movies by the lake, days at the beach, Octoberfest, Santa’s ride, and more.



Travel from Montclair to all major National Capital Area work centers is fairly easy and Montclair is close to shopping (Target, Bloom, Shoppers Warehouse, Starbucks, Panera’s, Five Guys, Greek, Chinese & Pizza restaurants, and more) as well as Prince William National Forest, the largest natural area in the region.  Prince William National Forest includes over 35 miles of nature and hiking trails and 21 miles of bicycle-accessible roads.
