School Information

Most realtors will offer you free school reports, and I'm no exception. However, I've found that many parents and guardians like a good deal more information than most can provide, so in addition to school reports, I've put together a list of school profiles and districts, and compiled further resources, including comprehensive higher education information.

Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties have many excellent schools, including some top parochial and international schools, and some of the nation's best colleges and universities.

Below you'll find links to school websites in each county, as well as individual school profiles and rankings. Programs for the gifted, and specialist schools are also listed. The Virginia Department of Education offers reports on every public school in the state, overviewing school performance, demographics and course information. Also, view Virginia Standards of Learning and find out about the Education Department's implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act, which describes success in terms of each student's own accomplishments.

Virginia's private education is as excellent as its public system and the National Association of Independent Schools has a comprehensive list of the State's independent schools, as does the The National Center for Education Statistics. The wide range of international schools in the Washington D.C. region provides further choice.

The National Center for Educational Statistics offers further information on the high quality of education in this region.

The Washington D.C. region, including Loudoun, Fairfax and Prince William Counties, is known throughout the world for the excellence of its many colleges and universities and scope of its degree programs. Explore Virginia Colleges is a superb one-stop resource. The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) has useful information on tertiary and adult education here, including financial aid information. The Virginia State Government website has additional financial aid resources, and the College Scholarship site is also well worth a visit. Below we provide a comprehensive list of colleges and universities by county and note which of these are found in the district capital.

While we have strived to ensure all the information on this website is correct, any important details on this page, or in any of the links we feature, should be verified with the educational institution or school district.
