South Run Rec center is a 7,000 square foot fitness center which is a 2-story structure overlooking parkland. It features cardio & strength training equipment, entertainment and expansive views. There is spin, mind and body studio, heated indoor pool with beach wading area, spa and outdoor sundeck. The lower level has a requetball/volleyball court. The 182 acres surrounding South Run offer soccer and baseball/softball fields, two tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, a field house with newly installed athletic turf playing surface, accessible playground and an off-leash dog area. Paved trails connect the center with Burke Lake Park and Lake Mercer.
Springfield has a well planned bus system and several kiss-and-ride and park-and-ride stations.
